What will the Surface Laptop 5 successor look like? Microsoft didn’t release a new device that year, but it did introduce the product within a few months. Recently, surveys have voted its thin and light laptop among the best computers you can buy.
Despite impressing in some areas such as display, performance, and battery life, the surface laptop 4 is obviously missing something.
Now, all we know is that the Surface Laptop 5 is rumored to release this year.

Microsoft has yet to confirm the existence of the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5, but it is likely headed for release in the next couple of weeks.

People are asking me if I’ve heard anything about a Surface Laptop today launching soon. This is hard because the laptop was pushed back to the fall due to shortages in components. Assuming it doesn’t change, it should launch in October.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Design Rumors: Whoops, New Features Expected
The specs of the Surface Laptop 5 are not confirmed, but predictions give a good indication of what to expect in a new updated design.
Microsoft allegedly plans to release Surface Laptop models that offer 120hz refresh rates while Windows 11’s “Dynamic Refresh Rate” will allow the display to adjust its refresh rate according to what the person is doing. This would save battery life.
The Laptop 5 will have a battery life somewhere between 17.5 and 21 hours depending on the processor and size.
The main processors offered will be from Intel’s 12th gen lineup, where platforms such as P-Series will also be available.

Other new features are a 1080p webcam, and a laptop with Windows 11 which is up from 720p on the previous laptop. It still has 8/16/32GB of RAM and SSDs from 256GB to 1TB, as well as ports like surface connect for charging.
Although WindowsPrime revealed many of the upgrades we were expecting to see, it’s still unclear if the Surface Laptop 5 design will be updated. Its predecessor is beginning to look outdated and would be nice to see something similar to the Pro 8.
